Review - iPhone 4

At first glance, the new iPhone 4 looks nothing like its predecessors, the iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS which have kept basically the same external design. The new design and look is like a complete face-lift and we feel that is exactly what is needed by Apple to keep the euphoria about the world no. 1 best selling phone brand at a high. While some preferred the old look, others cannot help but to admire the beauty that is the iPhone 4. It has a more industrial and elegant feel, seems like every tiny spots on the device is crafted and polished to perfection by Apple.
For the more active or careless users, here is a good news. Apparently the face-lift does not only affect the look of the device, it is also superbly strengthened by ultra-strong scratch-resistant glass in front and at the back. We are pretty sure that it will take a lot more than a simple drop or bump to dent your beloved iPhone 4.

iPhone 4 comes in either 16GB or 32GB capacity. If we have to choose, we would definitely go with the 32GB unit, especially because we are tempted to view some high definition videos on the crystal clear screen and we need extra storage space to go with the improved 5MP camera. Other enhancements to the hardware include more powerful and faster CPU chip and 512MB RAM, double of what was available on iPhone 3GS. A longer lasting battery capacity, a VGA front camera, a flash for the back camera, a second microphone used to combat background noise while on calls and additional sensors are worth noting too.
Major improvement is also made to the device's display. Named "Retina Display", the screen is very detailed and clear with rich color. Another thing that immediately distinguishes your piece of gadget from other cheap imitations - iPhone 4 screen is visible in full sunlight and it performs decently in low light and at extreme viewing angles.
Next, no review on iPhone would be complete without covering about its software. iPhone 4 has a re-branded iPhone operating system (OS), the iOS 4. Some new features are available under this OS, namely smartphone multitasking, FaceTime video calling, folders and enhanced Mail support. Book lovers will be delighted with iBooks to help them download ebooks and facilitate transfer of them between Apple devices. Last but not least, the iMovie app enables users to quickly do video recording and editing, producing their own memorable movie clips.
There are a lot of things to look forward to in iPhone 4 which has just been released for sale. As it is, it is already head and shoulders above other Smartphone's in terms of software functions and usability. We are confident that within a few months' time, there will be many new advanced apps developed to fully utilize the capabilities of the device's hardware's. Keep yourself busy with these until another summer (and presumably another iPhone?).
